Although his early academic journey led him toward Management Accounting and studies at the University of Yaoundé II SOA, AKENTIO recognized that his true calling lay in artistic expression. Rather than following a conventional professional path, he chose to dedicate himself fully to the visual arts, enrolling at the Institute of Fine Arts of the University of Douala in Nkongsamba. There, he completed a bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts, laying the technical and conceptual foundation that would define his artistic career.
His development extended beyond formal education. Participation in the KANTE (ART KEO) workshops introduced him to experienced mentors and fellow artists, creating an environment where experimentation and dialogue flourished. These formative experiences culminated in exhibitions held in Yaoundé in 2018 and 2019, marking the beginning of an increasingly visible presence within Cameroon’s contemporary art scene.
Today, AKENTIO lives and works between Kribi and Yaoundé, producing paintings, sculptures, photography, and artworks created from recycled materials. This diversity of media reflects his belief that ideas should determine the form of an artwork rather than the limitations of a single discipline.

His participation in the BANTOUTAKHAMONS exhibition in Kribi introduced his work to wider audiences while highlighting his engagement with cultural themes. During the global pandemic, he adapted to changing circumstances by participating in the virtual Confinement 2.0 exhibition, demonstrating the resilience and adaptability that have become essential qualities for contemporary artists.
His first solo exhibition at Au Comptoir des Arts in Yaoundé represented an important milestone, providing an opportunity to present a cohesive body of work that reflected his evolving artistic vision.
AKENTIO has also exhibited with the Afro Bantu collective and participated in Exposition sous l’Arbre, both of which further strengthened his presence within Cameroon’s vibrant artistic community.
